We have been offering premium hair services with a laid-back atmosphere in the heart of Milwaukee’s Bayview neighborhood since 2007. Our stylists specialize in cutting and coloring all textures of hair, and most are Deva Curl certified.

Known for our quality of salon services and friendly staff, we focus on the growth and education of our stylists. We enjoy working with your natural texture, not against it, whether your strands are stick straight or super curly. Freya is a Deva Curl and Green Circle certified salon.

Trying a new salon can be intimidating, so here’s everything you need to know!

What should I book?

Color trends have gotten so much more complicated in the last few years, and so a Consultation is required for all new color clients. The easiest way to do this is to book a haircut first! You can talk about your color ideas with your stylist while they cut, and come up with a game plan for your color.

Don’t need a haircut? We also offer complimentary 15 minute Color Consultation appointments, to ensure that you and your stylist are on the same page and that your color appointment is booked for the right amount of time.

What happens at my first appointment?

Our front desk coordinator will check you in, show you to the waiting room, and ask you to fill out a New Client intake form. Help yourself to a complimentary beverage while you wait to meet your stylist!

Your stylist will guide you to their chair, show you the best place to hang up your coat and bag, and then your consultation begins! We want to know all the details - Are you a pro with a blow dryer, or would you rather spend your extra time hitting the snooze button? Our goal is to get a feel for the “real” you, so we can set you up with a look that fits your lifestyle.

When your appointment is complete, you can check out and rebook at our front desk, or download the Pocket Salon app to digitally rebook and manage your own appointments in addition to skipping the line at the desk with chairside checkout. Pocket Salon allows you to rebook any service you’ve had with us in the last 6 months, so you never have to worry you’re booking the wrong thing.
