Carson she/her
Carson is known for her expertise in color transformations. She will take you from one end of the color wheel to the next. Her passion is in creating bold vivid colors without having to be high maintenance. She blends technical skills with creativity to create personalized looks that empower clients to express themselves boldly. As an inclusive stylist, she ensures every client feels represented and valued while creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. In her free time you can find her playing video games, hanging out with her dog Wilfred, watching horror movies with her friends, and spending time outside. Carson has 8 years of experience and is always striving to expand her knowledge within the industry. Currently she is making her way through our in-house training program for curly hair cutting, and will be adding curly cuts to her menu very soon!

Katie she/her
Katie has been a licensed cosmetologist since 2002. Starting her career in Milwaukee, she became certified in Goldwell hair color and Bumble & Bumble cutting techniques before moving on to do hair in Brooklyn, New York. While away she was introduced to the Deva Curl cutting techniques and considers that to be a career defining moment! In 2007 she moved home and became one of the original Freya team members, bringing with her a whole new appreciation and love for cutting curly hair! She is Kevin Murphy educated as well as Deva Curl certified and specializes in working with her client’s natural hair colors and textures in order to create long-lasting results that are beautiful yet low maintenance. No matter what texture your hair is, Katie loves to use the knowledge she’s gained over the years to create natural lived in looks that just get better with time. A lifelong learner inside and outside the salon, Katie stepped away from the chair at the end of 2021 in order to pursue an education in interior design. Needless to say, she missed you and could not be more thrilled to be back behind the chair at Freya! She loves music, renovating her house, and spending time with friends! Especially her very best friend Gladys, her 5-year-old Australian cattle dog.

Lauren she/her
Lauren graduated from the cosmetology program at Madison Area Technical College in 2022, and from the Freya Assistant Training program in the spring of 2023. Since then, she’s fallen in love with curly hair shapes, and all things color. From lived-in blonding to bold vivid placements - she can’t wait to work with you to create your dream hair! With her easy going personality, you can expect to feel welcomed and relaxed during your service.In her free time, you’ll find her playing cozy games on her Nintendo Switch, watching reality tv shows and hanging with her two cats.

Izzie she/her
Izzie has been in the hair industry since she graduated the WCTC cosmetology program in 2017. Early in her career she realized how much she loves everything about color; From the science behind it to learning new techniques to get the best results. Izzie makes sure that all of her guests achieve their hair goals and feel like their best selves. Outside of the salon Izzie loves traveling, exploring the city, going to concerts, and spending time with close friends.

Sarah she/her
Sarah began her journey studying at the Aveda Institute of Beauty & Wellness, and has been licensed since 2018 behind the chair. She loves to create custom looks that showcase who you are as an individual, while maintaining longevity and creating a look that flows with your lifestyle. Sarah gravitates towards lived in blonding, dimensional color and vivid moments. She likes to push the boundaries around haircutting and is here for any type of shags, pixies and mullets. Sarah is passionate about giving her clients a safe space to come as you are and enjoys making her clients feel seen. In her free time you can catch her out in nature listening to music, learning something new or hanging out with her two pets and those closest to her.

Mirasia they/them
Mirasia graduated from Vici beauty school in 2014. After a 6 year hiatus, they dived back into the industry with guns blazin' and haven't looked back since! Mirasia is all about the daring bold reds and soft coppers, head turning transformations, and "this isn't a phase, mom" creative colors. They strive to bring comfort, inclusivity, and confidence behind the chair as well as build trust and genuine relationships. When they’re not behind the chair, depending on the midwest weather, you can catch Mirasia outside soaking up the sun with their family, singing their lungs out at a local emo night, or trying the new seasonal drinks at a local coffee shop.

Abigail Whitney she/her
Abigail joined the Freya team in 2021, after honing her craft for several years at another Milwaukee salon. As a colorist, she is known for her natural looking blondes and rich reds. She loves keeping up with the latest hair trends including razor cutting, shags, curly textures, and mullets. Abigail loves to connect with her clients with her goofy and caring personality and will go the extra mile to make sure you absolutely love your hair. In her free time, you’ll find Abigail working on and riding her motorcycle, or at home cozied up with her puppy Penny Lou and two cats: George Bailey and Grandma.

Josh he/him
Josh is our go-to for short clipper cuts, fades, and more! Plus he’s Deva Curl certified and loves to help anyone with natural curls get the most out of their texture. Josh is a music lover and a world traveler. He spent time living abroad in Bolivia, Peru, and Puerto Rico before returning to Wisconsin and finding his passion for hair. Check out his music side project Skymall.

Adriana she/her
Adriana has quickly become known as THE stylist for massive hair color transformations. She is your go-to for vivid rainbow shades and dramatic dimensional balayage, and her bobs and shags on textured hair are personalized just to you. In her spare time, you’ll find Adriana testing out the latest makeup palettes, nerding out to Sci-Fi, and living her best life as a gluten-free cat mom.

Kay she/her
Meet Kay! With a passion for precision and an eye for detail, Kay specializes in dimesional hair coloring, expertly covering grays and seamlessly blending tones. Her expansive knowledge in color theory helps her to formulate all types of custom hair colors for her clients, from coppers to blondes and brunettes, while prioritizing keeping your hair healthy and strong. Whether you are looking to achieve a flawless platinum blonde, or enhance your length with beaded weft hair extensions, Kay will help you feel like a more confident and radiant version of yourself.
Kay has been with Freya since she moved to MKE from Cleveland, Ohio in 2016. In her free time, she loves to stay active and strong at the gym. She has a soft spot for reality television and reading mystery novels. She maintains a daytime schedule so that she can prioritize being home in the evenings to spend time with her son, Hazel. Kay can’t wait to see you in her chair and talk through life and all things beauty with you!

Alex she/her
Alex joined the Freya team in 2014. Her biggest loves are balayage, natural looking cuts and colors, and short pixie cuts. Alex loves mentoring anyone new to the industry and is currently teaching haircutting for our in-house Assistant training program. When she’s not at Freya, Alex stays busy with her second career as a comic book illustrator. In her free time you’ll find her playing video games, and begging her cats to stop biting her.

Denyse she/her
Denyse completed the cosmetology program at Vici Park in 2006 and after a few years behind the chair, decided to take a break from the hairstyling world. She joined the Freya team in 2014 with renewed energy and inspiration. Creating easy to manage styles and teaching clients how to work with their own hair outside of the salon is her specialty (along with swapping stories and experiences with her clients). Outside of her time spent at Freya, Denyse loves the outdoors, gardening, and enjoying good food and music.

Josef he/him
Josef completed his cosmetology course at Vici Capilli Beauty School in 1999, He has been trained across the country on a variety of techniques including: Styling, cutting, and up-styling by KEVIN.MURPHY, men’s cutting by American Crew, and razor cutting by Bumble & Bumble University in NYC. After being part of the original team that opened Freya Salon in 2007, in 2023 Josef stepped down from ownership so that he could give his full focus to his clients. Josef no longer offers color services and instead focuses on haircutting exclusively. Currently he spends his spare time watching movies, reading books, going on epic hikes, deciding which board game to play from his epic collection, and looking forward to planting his vegetable garden in the spring. Overall, Josef is an easy going, down to earth guy.

Emily she/her
Emily is your go-to for creating vibrant and bold rainbow hues, razored bobs, and lived-in shags. She loves all parts of the beauty industry, and over the years has spent time working as an educator for brands like KEVIN.MURPHY and ghd. She loves to share her knowledge with other stylists. Emily opened Freya Salon in 2007, and now gives back to the industry by mentoring the Freya team. Aside from hair, Emily has a thing for travel, fashion, cats, cat fashion, and traveling cats.

Samantha she/her
Meet our amazing Salon Manager! In 2017, Samantha joined the Freya team as a Front Desk Coordinator. From there she worked closely with the owner’s of Freya as an office assistant, learning the intricacies of the business. After graduating from UWM with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 2020, Samantha moved into the Salon Manager role and has been the glue that keeps it all together ever since! She also pulls double duty as our Wedding Coordinator, working closely with all our wedding parties to ensure your big day goes off without a hitch.
